Russian Boar Hunts
While Southern hog and boar hunting usually requires the hunter to take the first hog that he sees, High Adventure Ranch encourages hunters to go for the truly impressive kill. Hunters are free to take the hog of their choice, but we discourage killing Russian Boar under 200 pounds and Razorbacks under 150 pounds. Most boar hunters who have been to our ranch find our philosophy of hunting wild boar far more exciting and rewarding than anything they have experienced before. |
Elk Hunts
In the distance you hear the bugling of a bull elk and start with your own bugling to bring your prey closer. Shortly the encounter becomes reality as you stand a mere 50 yards away from the most magnificent animal you have ever seen. As you ready your rifle, your muscles tighten…your heart starts to race…you fire. The animal turns to run, but its too late. After a short battle, it accepts its fate. Unfortunately, with the difficulty of obtaining a permit to hunt elk or even finding a quality trophy bull with a good guide, this story will never become reality for most hunters. In fact, only 4% of the people who go hunting out west ever bag a trophy elk. We have had 100% success for the last 17 years! |
Trophy Deer Hunts
The deer hunting adventure at High Adventure Ranch begins with preserving high quality herd and trophy bloodlines in a most natural environment. Bound only by an endless thirteen mile perimeter, all of our deer are free to retain their natural instincts. Free to
roam and reproduce uninterrupted, these deer live in an area divided only by small springs and ephemeral streams which form the bluegrass and wooded ridges of the mature Ozark foothills.
Of course, effective game management means keeping herd numbers at reasonable levels. This is where you, the trophy hunter comes in. Only the mature trophy deer that we are dedicated to producing will be harvested. Select hunting subsidizes our trophy preservation efforts and provides you with the most fascinating big game hunting available in the Midwest.
Be prepared for a fair chase. These deer are born and raised in a natural environment with virtually no human contact. For that reason, High Adventure Ranch is geared to the seasoned hunter…the kind of hunter who would allow his young son the first shot on a 10-point buck…the hunter who would pass up an inferior animal in easy range…the trophy hunter.
Mule Deer Hunts
Mule deer get their name from their distinct mule like ears that move independently and constantly. In fact, these unique ears can reach lengths of 10 inches. Other than it’s ears, the mule deer appears much stockier than the whitetail deer and typically weighs in at about 150 to 300 pounds. Its coat has a grayish brown color in the winter and a reddish brown color in the summer and usually has white undersides and a black tipped tail. Because of this, the mule deer is also referred to as a blacktail deer by some. Mule deer hunts can prove to be very exciting and provide a large trophy for the hunter as well as excellent table fare. |
